Honeybee Outeniqua Tour Guiding

Pioneer Heritage Tour

7 Day 6 Night Guided Self Drive

Join us for a self drive adventure for the whole family, in the footsteps of several Pioneer oxwagon “"Trekkers," across mountain passes, only accessible by 4x4 vehicles. This 450km route is rich in history, bird life and 6000 plant species, of which 40% are endemic to the region. It crosses several spectacular mountain passes and bridges, designed by award winning engineers of the 18th century.

We drive through valleys and rivers on old oxwagan tracks, visit bushman paintings, gold mines and an award winning wine cellar, to name but a few. We sleep over in bush camps in mother nature with hot and cold running water, as well as ablution facilities.  Enjoy activities such as swimming, horse riding, canoeing and so much more to keep the whole family entertained.

Conservancy Tour

3 Day tour

Our Conservancy Tour starts near Uniondale and ends in the area around Plettenberg Bay.

This tour is three days following Burchells original route through the area now called Prince Alfreds Pass. We however rarely see the actual pass, choosing to stay on the original tracks.

The overnight facilities are primitive camping is in clearings where possible, there are no electricity or toilet facilities, you need to be fully self sufficient and willing to rough it a bit.

Vehicles with high ground clearance and low range are compulsory.

This trip is exclusive to Honeybee Outeniqua and well worth doing if you want to experience the Southern Cape like never before.

Booking at least 30 days in advance. We cannot start the trip without at least 6 confirmed bookings. Best time of year, all year round although it can get very cold in the winter months.

Crossing Dirt Tour

6 day 5 night Guided Self Drive

This spectacular tour offers the nature and dirt road enthusiast, the most amazing adventure through the Garden Route and Klein Karoo.  This trip finds its way through fifteen of the most beautiful passes in the area.  Sticking mainly to gravel roads enabling us to get up-close and personal with nature, we cover semi desert, mountainous, and forest terrain that can only leave you in ore.

Allowing time for nature drives, olive, wine & port tasting, relaxation and time to participate in some local banter and meeting “lekker” local people in “Dorps” and some of the more remote places on the way.

This tour is designed for those who love roads less travelled and seeing things from a different perspective. All though this tour is Cottage and lodge catered the love for nature and the outdoors is a prerequisite.

Prices below are a guide line only, as they vary depending on the time of year, the size of your traveling party, accommodation and catering.
